Jim Gill presents an energizing workshop with a perfect blend of active participation and useful information gathered from theory and actual practice.

Jim Gill is known as a musician and author, but he is also, by training, a child development specialist with a Master’s Degree in Child Development from the Erikson Institute of Chicago.  Informed by his studies, Jim’s goal has always been to promote active play between adults and children with his music and books. 

In this workshop, Jim will share a number of his creations in music play and discuss the implications for development. He will focus on music as a context for active play and participation, the type of music for which Jim is known best. Jim will discuss how a play-based program provides an inclusive environment for children with special needs and share thoughts based on his work with children of all ability levels.

After a morning with Jim Gill, everyone is sure to leave inspired to share a new repertoire of songs and games with the children they love and care for.  Even more, they will leave with a renewed excitement about  play as a context for teaching and learning.
